Breakfast Assistant

I had an assistant making breakfast this morning and not only was it quite a pleasure, but the outcome was delicious!
Lillie helped make Chocolate Chip Muffins

Our oldest granddaughter, Lillie, did the stirring and scooped the batter into the muffin tins and I measured and added the ingredients.  She is quite a good helper in the kitchen.  If you would like to try out the recipe, you can find it HERE.
Scooping out just the right amount of batter...
...can be serious business.
"Do you think this is enough, GrandB?"
Using a scoop makes it easier for little hands to get just enough.
It also helps to be pretty strong when you squeeze the release.
Do you see how much is just enough?
It makes a snaggle-toothed girl happy to get warm muffins from the oven!
A plate-full of yumminess and a bushel of cuteness!
One last pose before we eat...
We ate outside at the table under the umbrella "so it would be like at a restaurant."  You know, one has to set just the right mood because that makes all the difference.  Plus, sometimes a friend will join us - especially if we share some crumbs.  Look closely in the photo above and you will have a clue of who our friend was that joined us this morning.  She is a special guest - royalty even.  Her name, I understand, is Duchess.

We love it when the granddaughters come for their Days!  The smiles on Mike and my faces are at least as big as this smile - not quite as cute and sunny, though.
