If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

Did you hear all the racket?

On Thursday afternoon I was out in the yard pulling weeds and dumping out mulch in the last little corner by the back steps.  All of a sudden I heard Mike hollering and looked up to see him scurrying through the middle of the barn with his hands in the air.  He was yelling, "Look, baby, look what I got!"  He looked like a kid with a new tricycle.  Here is what he had...
His first two eggs!

Remember when I told you about his new project HERE?  His girls are finally producing eggs for our breakfast!

Daughter-In-Law

Today we are thankful for a special young woman.  We are thrilled that she chose to share her life with our son.

Her smile brightens our lives and her personality sends sparks of happiness through our bones.  We love her and are glad to call her our own.

Happy Birthday, Jessica!

Today's Your Day, Cassie!

Turning five is a big milestone for any girl.  Today is the day you do that, Cassie.  Happy Birthday!

We love you loads, girl!

Yesterday

I tried to catch up on work a little yesterday.
I was a little bit distracted, though.

Halloween Spooktacular

Bridgette is the committee chair for Parks and Recreation in her small town.  She has been ultra busy of late planning for a Spooktacular event which took place last night.  They had games galore and food and it seems there was loads of fun.  Here are some highlights that she shared with me...
Two cute costumed girls!

Lillie dressed in one of those cool costumes that looks like she is the cowgirl riding a horse.  How appropriate is that?  Lydia was her favorite friend - Minnie.  The one costume was a consignment sale bargain, I think, and the other was stitched together by Bridgette.  Well, most of it.  The Minnie Mouse head is an heirloom - I made Mickey and Minnie heads for Bridgette and Bryan when he was two and she was four-years-old.  So, that makes them...significantly older!  At any rate, I'm sure they were the cutest little costumed children at the event - without compare!
Here is another look at the cowgirl on the horse...
and one of Minnie.
They both reported that they had a big time!

These girls looked like they had a fun time as well.  I cannot really find the words to describe what their costume is like...
Is this Barbies gone bad?
I think the Kardashian's are envious...or maybe the Muppets...or the bad toys in Toy Story.  I don't know where they found these get-ups because with this look, I cannot believe it is something that regularly hangs in their closets.  These are my three neices.  I do say that they must have had great fun, don't you think?
Madalyn and Megan hamming it up for the camera

Madalyn's shirt has the perfect slogan for their ensembles, I think.  What does make you beautiful?  Where on earth did they find such?
Is it the hair or the make-up?
No doubt about this one - hair and clothes!
There is something about her eyes...

The smile does say it all, though.  She was definitely having loads of fun.  Come to think of it, I saw a girl with her hair this way - really - a couple of weeks ago and she wasn't even intending it to be a costume.  What fun and creativity those girls have!
Bridgette's Mother-In-Law
I think this little girl must have had a fun time, too.  Her costume is cute but not a bit scary or even laugh provoking like my neices, though.

The decor was fun and cute, too.  There were carved pumpkins, banners, streamers, and
...these cute ghosts.

They are crafted from wire tomato cages wrapped in clear lights, draped with a white cloth that has duct taped features.  How clever is that?
I wonder if this guy was shocked at seeing the neices or scared at seeing the most frightening costume of all...
Love ya, Corey!

My Youngest Niece

She may be the quietest when there is a crowd around.  But she isn't always that little mouse...

What a sweet smile.
Becoming a young lady...
Being a cowgirl for Lillie's birthday.
Say cheese...

Happy Birthday, Madalyn!

Birthday Girl!

Today is the day Mike's eldest child was born.  We celebrate her birth in our hearts and are thankful for God's blessing us with her in our lives.
Here she is at only a couple of months old...
...and a few months later when she is sitting alone.  Isn't that smile like sunshine?
I love her sweet little cheeks and legs in this one!
She's all innocence here.
Could anything be sweeter and more angelic?
This one makes me just want to squeeze her sweetness.
Here she is starting to look less like a toddler and more like the big sister she had become.
What a fashionista - even at an early age!
Relaxed and pondering...
curious and questioning...
animated and glowing...
inquiring and involved...
more mature, but still cute and styling...
adoring and indulgent...
encouraging and devoted...
loving and doing what she does best...
...surrounded by even more love than this photo could possibly show.
Happy Birthday, Laura!
We love you.
