Lydia's birthday party was Saturday.
It was a great sixth birthday party, I think.
One for high rollers...
...large and small...
...style and technique were important...
...for the amateurs...
...and the pros, alike...
...the stance plays a major role...
...the stance before releasing the ball...
...as well as after the release...
...makes all the difference in the world.
Well, maybe not all the difference in the world...Angela and Jessica had completely different styles and techniques and stayed tied through most of the afternoon. We all were high rollers for a while. Then, we had the ritual present opening...
Lydia's loot was quite impressive.
She and her friends - and, well...all of us, for that matter - were excited to see the treasures which she was gifted.
Sweet girl that she is, folks were rewarded with a hug and thank-you after she opened each gift.
Even the most bashful were pleased with the hug!
Some were loaded with treasures...
...and others only promised the fulfillment of wishes.
There were some special requests she made for her birthday...
...and some surprises...
Each was met with a smile.
Each touched a special place in her heart.
Those which were wished-for as well as those which were a surprise on the spot.
Of course, EVERYBODY wasn't as curious about what was hidden in the gift wrap as Lydia...
SOME FOLKS were a bit curious about the other offerings at the bowling alley...
...you know, those things with wheels, and buttons, and flashing lights...
...again, big and small, alike had to give lady luck a try...
...for some it was all about the levers and such...
...or maybe just curiosity was the challenge.
Different ones took turns holding the littlest folks...
...it was a tough job, but somebody had to snuggle with those little ones!
Moms and Dads sometimes need to be the go-to snuggler.
Every birthday party offers something delicious to eat!
The birthday girl gets a special song before she blows out the candles...
...and we ate pizza, cupcakes, and ice cream.
Cute as well as yummy!
Tasty treats for everyone!
It seems everybody found something to enjoy...
...and somebody to share it with made the treats tastier!

Some folks kicked back with a full tummy.
Others chatted and finished up the last few frames.
Then, there was a group photo...
